A leak can be difficult but if you know the signs and have the experience and knowledge this issue can be eliminated for good. We specialize in finding problems and solutions for any type of leaking steeple repair. In some case we may have to remove your steeple and in other case we may not. Depending on the situation we have choices and the means to make any leak disapear.
Many types of roofs start to leak from age or and maybe other weather damage related issues including copper and metal cladding. These type of systems tend to weaken from settleling and other movement due to the way most steeples are designed. Sometimes we find that it goes back to the drawing board and derives from the original architects misconseption of materials (to use on the understructure) which overtime shows the detrimental effects this has cuased on some of the very prestigous metal cladding systems to be seen.
Some past repair and or maintenance choices has been the cause of steeple leaks eg. installing aluminum and or vinyl wall siding, or even a new roof job and improper flashing can cause a huge problem. When your roof needs to be replaced, be sure to call us to safetly remove (if needed) and or properly design a water tight surface using appropriate flashing techniques. 1. A steeple in architecture is a tall tower on a building, topped by a spire and often incorporating a belfry and other components. Steeples are very common on Christian churches and cathedrals and the use of the term generally connotes a religious structure. They may be stand-alone structures, or incorporated into the entrance or center of the building.
2. Types of leak openings include a puncture, gash, rust or other corrosion hole, very tiny pinhole leak (possibly in imperfect welds), crack or microcrack, or inadequate sealing between components or parts joined together. When there is a puncture, the size and shape of the leak can often be seen, but in many other cases, the size and shape of the leak opening may not be so obvious. In many cases, the location of a leak can be determined by seeing material drip out at a certain place, although the leak opening itself is not obvious. In some cases, it may known or suspected there is a leak, but even the location of the leak is not known. Since leak openings are often so irregular, leaks are sometimes sized by the leakage rate, as in volume of fluid leaked per time, rather than the size of the opening.
